Loeb/Madureira on The Ultimates

Comic Book Resources - "WIZARD" REVEALS NEW "ULTIMATES" TEAM

Confirming what many thought to be fact after the Wizard World Chicago convention, writer Jeph Loeb and artist Joe Madureira will be taking over Marvel Comics' "Ultimates," with Volume 3, presumably set to arrive mid-2006. As revealed on "Wizard Magazine's" site, They replace the outgoing team of Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch, who are half way through their second year on the series. "Ultimates" has met with both critical and financial success in past years, despite some mature content and altered shipping schedules, so it should be interesting to see what fan reaction will be to the new team.

Just take a deep breath. Everything's going to be OK.

Say it with me: "I will give it a chance."

It's an interesting choice. I don't think anyone could replicate and continue what Millar and Hitch are doing, so it makes sense to have a different enough team that the comparisions won't be so direct.
