It's quite hard picking just one image from Nextwave, by Warren Ellis and Stuart Immonen. Start to finish, this book had a larger smile-to-page ratio than anything since Yotsuba&! (which inspired this little feature).
And they aren't wry smiles, full of ennui and bile. This is Warren Ellis being dopey and happy and fun ... and I love it. Nextwave reminds me of the last comics revolution Warren started with Stormwatch and Authority ... a breath of fresh air.

Hope you can find a copy. I got to my shop early Wednesday afternoon, and got the last (slightly battered) copy.
