This Week's Shopping List: November 23, 2005

It's Thanksgving week, I'm finally taking some vacation days from work, and tomorrow I'll head to 2005 Will Eisner Spirit of Comics Retailer Award Winning Night Flight Comics for a decent haul of sequential art. Much to be thankful for. It almost makes up for my Eagles' season being, for all intents and purposes, over.

Almost.

Most Anticipated? My finger only skips the merest of beats before pointing to Seven Soldiers: Frankenstein. Zatanna, Godland , Captain America, Young Avengers, and Conan all vie for the position, however. There's a lot to be thankful for.

I'm also thankful to see Jack Cross #4. I told myself I'd give Ellis one full arc to catch me, and then I can cut bait. Seeing as how there's been no solicitation of the title between tomorrow's issue through Februray ... DC may have cut bait as well. A new Ellis mini - Down - debuts tomorrow, and Ellis' description of it as "Authority style for crime fiction" sounds promising. The fact that he hasn't pimped it in his many online presences does not.

Speaking of being thankful ... would you be thankful if you got free comics?

I knew you would.

The lack of pimping of Down may be due to the fact that it's a) an old project just now seeing the light of day and b) it was written for Tony Harris to draw, and now he's only the artist on the first issue.

I completely agree ...

It's just the last old project which surfaced without much Ellis Pimpin' was Jack Cross.
