Focused Linkblogging
- Every time something passes though my Bloglines now carrying the name Fred Van Lente - like this blurb from Comic World News - I now automatically stop, take notice, and think back to Fred Van Lente Day. That's marketing. I gotta work up a Jason Rodriguez Day, or a Bryan Lee O'Malley Day.
- Buzzscope's Guy LeCharles Gonzalez gets into the Speakeasy situation, with feedback from many of the participants. It's an excellent piece, and well worth reading.
- Jim at Why Read Comics? adds some interesting notes to the "online comics" debate which is a big part of the Speakeasy situation, but also stands on it's own. In particular, I think his point about the CBR/CBZ format stands up. The default format for online comic books exists, there's no need to reinvent the wheel (as Marvel's seen fit to do, with predictable wheel-reinventing results).

Wait.
Me Jason Rodriguez day? I do googles on my name and the only other Jason Rodriguez's I've come across of note is this stunt actor who's in some rocking movies, an occasional inker, and this guy that came from Tijuana and has a personal webpage that people always ask if it's me. I don't deserve a day. I deserve lifelong devotion.
Guy's article is great, isn't it? I don't even know where to chime in yet or if I even want to chime in. Depends if someone gets me riled up, I guess.
